Inside My Mind / Lifestyle

TOL #24

Think out Loud Thursdays hosted by lovely Running with Spoons!

1. I survived the Yonge Street 10K!

My shins were feeling good Sunday morning but I still took it easy and guess what? You’ll have to wait for my recap to get my results 😉 Haha. But all that matters for now is that I survived 🙂 …and a guy in a priest robe dedicated to the Toronto Maple Leafs outran me… So I’m going to pretend that didn’t happen haha

2. Sometimes I question my intelligence

My RMT was busy when I texted him about a knot in my outer left calf so what did I do? I got a heat pack to try to loosen it up. I zoned out as I was studying  and gave myself a burn blister. Yes, a freaking burn blister.  Like what is my deal?! Did I not feel the pain until it was too late?  Apparently so…

3. I have two exams today which has been the root of my stress eating for the last week…

I apologize for my lack of posts.

4. I made the plunge!

I sent the email to my coach letting him know that I’m interested in racing a marathon!  It won’t be for until 2017 as I wanted to do one before I leave F20-24. So the plan would be to do Around the Bay 30k in 2016 and work my way to a good marathon time in 2017, preferably Ottawa Weekend in 2017 after I GRADUATE. I’m taking the maximum course load this summer so I can graduate university next year and I cannot wait. I’m ready to leave the school behind!

So that’s what’s on my mind!  What’s on yours? Have you ran a marathon? How was it? Please lie to me and tell me it was easy peasy!

  1. I’ve never run a marathon, but I want to do one before I’m 26. I just signed up to do the Paris Marathon (April 2016) last week, so we’ll see how that goes! I’ll be building up to it for the next 11 months or so because I run about 12 miles (~20km?) a week, so I need a lottt of work before I can get to 26.2 miles at once.
