As summer is wrapping up, I’m sure the wanderlust is kicking in. I know wanderlust has kicked my butt into high gear. So there are a few of my favourite spots to visit from Toronto that doesn’t take too much time to get to.
Wasaga Beach is the longest freshwater beach in the world! You can lay on the beach, play on the beach, hike in the surrounding trails (over 50K), and if you want to stay longer – there are cottages and beach houses to rent!

So many places to hike in Hamilton! We drove out there and were able to go to three different hiking spots (recommended by my trail running buds) and had a blast. You can go off trail or you can stay on the marked paths but either way there is a lot to explore out there.
You can explore trails, kayak, canoe, and more in the summer then transition into snowing boarding, skiing, and other fun winter activities up at Blue Mountain. I visited for a The North Face Endurance relay and just fell in love with the view and the potential for adventure! To add to the fun, there’s also a Scandinave Spa for when you’re tired from all the exploring!
Prince Edward County
Don’t feel like going out and getting down and dirty in some trails? Prince Edward County is a short drive (or even a long bike ride!) away and has some great wineries for you to check out! You can book yourself a wine tour so you can kick back and relax.
