Monday – REST
Tuesday – 7K
Wednesday – REST
Thursday – 9.89K + STRENGTHENING
Friday – REST
Saturday – REST
Sunday – 17K
This was a tiring week – maybe it’s the weather, maybe it’s my body trying to get me to rest more but the runs this week felt harder than it was last week.
Tuesday was meant to be like last Tuesday, playing with speed. Instead, I dragged myself out there and tried to last the entire 7K without having to sit down because boy was I tired.
Thursday was another interval day and it surprisingly went well! Other than my mini breakdown over my HR strap constantly falling off and not reading right because of that. It was frustrating and I was just not feeling it at all. But I managed to run my 2 minute zone 4 intervals and promptly zoned out on the cool down to the point where I ended up running 0.89K more than I should have! I was getting tired and was pretty much going “HOW MUCH MORE?!” before looking at my watch and realized that I had already finished. Oops.
Sunday was a nervous run. 17K after rain means I had to stay out of the trails to avoid sliding into the river and dying on my run. I ran most of the 17K on concrete and my knees felt it! I also somehow managed to wake up at 6:59AM to get my run done early on so I could spend the rest of the day with H! I’ve been trying to get my runs done in the morning recently (might be why my body is so tired) because it’s been getting so dark so early lately. Plus, there has been a few sightings of coyotes near my running trails so I’ve been a bit more conscious over how late I’m in the area now. But now that I’m done the 17K, I’m feeling a bit more confident about being able to comfortably running a half again. I mean, it’s only 4K more and I have time to build my way up again. Super exciting!
Let’s chat! How was your week? Did you try anything new? Any goal races?
