Sunday – 12k easy + strengthen

Last week was a little crazy, between not being able to move after cupping and two essays it also snowed! Thursday was a snowy run and by Sunday… most of it was gone and it was warmish again.  Mother nature might have taken one too many shots and brought winter over a little early haha.

I’ve been a little busy recently so I’m sorry for not blogging.  I’ve also been trying to get a post out but I’ve been having some difficulties putting my thoughts into words.  However … remember how I said the holiday spirit gets me a little excited and and gift givy (I may have bought a million xmas cards to mail out… hehe) and how there’s going to be a bunch of giveaways?  Well I have another one today for you!  This giveaway is sponsored by Vega so many thanks to them!

Recently Vega came out with their new VegaOne formula and I’m so freaking excited over it.  Vega has amped up the protein by 33% and doubled the greens, all with whole food ingredients to compliment the Vega One that you already know and love.  Have you guys seen my diet? I need all the greens I can get and this is an easy amazing way to get it in me!  My roommate has to actually chop up vegetables and hide it in my food to get me to eat my veggies (I’m an overgrown child…I know…I’d eat cake for breakfast all the time if I could).

Vega One Whole Food Ingredients_1500x1500px_US

It’s gluten-free and contains no added sugar for those who are concerned about gluten and sugar and as always, it’s been formulated with no dairy or soy ingredients and contains no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.  NON GMO Seal_1500x150pxI got the French Vanilla flavour and it really did taste like French Vanilla! You could actually smell it after the bag was opened.

I love how it has 20g of protein, 6 servings of greens that are from broccoli, kale, spirulina, and chlorella, vitamins & minerals, fibre, omega-3, antixidants, and probiotics all in 160 calories!  I definitely do not eat broccoli, kale, spirulina, and chlorella on a daily basis so knowing that I’m getting it all in one shake made my day!  I can worry less and run more!  Two thumbs up for VegaOne for having the backs of us busy folks <3

So can you tell why this is amazing? Haha.  Anyways, since greens need to sneaked into my diet… I made myself some yummy VegaOne Banana Bread and VegaOne Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins!

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • Scoop of VegaOne
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix butter into the mashed bananas in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  4. Mix together the flour, salt, baking soda, salt, and VegaOne before folding it into the mixture
  5. Pour mixture into a buttered 4×8 inch loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour. Cool on a rack. Remove from pan and slice to serve.

I made two batches.  The second batch, I added chocolate chips and put them into a muffin pan!  Also delicious!

They came out delicious so now I have snacks that have protein and greens hidden inside it!  I’ll be keeping this in mind if I ever have a child who doesn’t want to eat their greens too LOL.

So doesn’t this sound good? 🙂 I know some of you haven’t tried Vega so Vega had kindly offered to give way a 10pack of the new VegaOne and a shaker cup to one lucky reader!  (Disclaimer! I was not compensated for this blog post but they are sponsoring the giveaway!)

  1. I have heard so many great things about Vega, they really are an awesome brand for recovery products. I would love if you could add your recipe to our meatless monday linkup, it sounds yuuuuummmyyy! Soryr to hear you have snow already, I would not be handling that very well!

  2. I’ve never tried Vega products. Last week was really rough, so hoping this one will be much better! Our 19 month old son has been fighting a cold and that has taken a toll on the whole family.

  3. I love VegaOne— and use it every day (and love the single serving packs for traveling!). I had never thought to use it while baking–what a great idea!

  4. I’ve never tried VegaOne before, but I’ve heard so many good things about it! Brilliant that you snuck all those proteins and nutrients into baked goods. Yumm. Maybe I’ll try to sneak some spinach into my next batch of cookies hahaha.

    • right?! my roommate actually chomps the bell peppers into teeny pieces to put into my chicken salads just to make sure I get my veggies haha. This is def an easier way!

  5. omg drooling – your recipes look delicious! I can’t remember the last time I had banana bread.
& hahaha, you sound just like I was a couple of years ago! I wouldn’t eat a veggie to save my life. Thankfully that’s changed now, but a little VegaOne wouldn’t hurt 😉

    • haha I keep telling myself I need to get in my diet but when the choice is in front of me … junk food keeps winning! ): Easier to sneak into the library at school and faster! lol!

  6. I am having a fantastic and very Happy Thanksgiving week and hope you are too!
Thank you for this giveaway as I’ve not tried the new Vega One and would love to add it to my frozen fruit smoothie blends!

  7. My week was rather low key on training as it was vacation week. And no, I’ve never tried vegaone, so it’ll be sweet if I win. Thanks for hosting!

  11. I practically LIVE off of VegaOne, being a protein-deficient vegan who is trying to gain weight. Winning this would take a huge chunk out of my monthly wallet cleanout restocking on the stuff! Now I’ll actually be able to afford my college books and electricity bill, haha.
