Made in 20 minutes or less, this Jjapaguri with Steak also known as Ram-Don, popularized by the movie Parasite is a combination of two types of noodles topped with juicy bite-sized pieces of steak. It is beyond easy to make at home and is packed with flavor.
Season the cubed steak with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
In a cast-iron or large skillet, heat up the oil and add the steak to the hot pan. Sear the beef for 1 to 2 minutes per side before adding butter (if using) and baste the steak until it is done to your liking. Set the steak aside to rest as you continue to make the ram-don.
Meanwhile, bring a pot of water (around 4 cups) to a boil and add the noodles and vegetable flakes. Cook for 3 minutes, reserve a cup of the starchy water and strain the rest of the water out.
Add the seasoning packets to the noodles (add less of the Neoguri if you want it less spicy).
Toss the noodles with a few splashes of the reserved water, until you reach a desired thick consistency. I usually add two tablespoons at a time.
Add the steak to the noodles and toss to combine. Top with some scallions for garnish if desired.
