A double patty cheeseburger with grilled pineapple and bacon, this Aloha Burger is sure to steal the show! Paired with a homemade honey mustard sauce, this sweet and savoury burger is a great way to dress up a burger.
In a small bowl, combine the Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, honey, and cayenne powder. Keep covered in the fridge until ready to use.
In a cast iron skillet with some olive oil on it, add 4 burger patties. Cook them for around 4 to 6 minutes per side, depending on the thickness and size of your burgers. Add an extra minute if they were frozen. Set aside.
Add another 4 patties to the pan and cook them again. Top with a slice of cheese and cook for another minute so the cheese is melty enough to hold together two patties.
Meanwhile, on a grill pan, brush lightly with some olive oil and add the pineapple slices to the pan. Grill for 1 to 2 minutes per side.
Assemble the burgers by spreading the honey mustard onto the bottom bun, then adding lettuce if using. Then stack two patties together, with the cheese inbetween, and top with the grilled pineapple, bacon, and sliced red onions if using.
Notes
You can easily cook all the burgers at once on the grill or in two skillets to save time. I went with one so I can wash fewer dishes.
To cook on a grill, simply follow the same instructions and brush some oil onto your grill before adding the burger patties.
