This homemade fresh banana syrup recipe is perfect for adding fresh banana flavor to any drink or drizzled on top of your pancakes, waffles, yogurt bowls, ice cream, and more! Made with only a couple of ingredients, this banana simple syrup comes together so easily!
Add the sliced banana, brown sugar, white sugar, and water to a saucepan and bring it to a simmer over medium heat, stirring throughout to help the sugars dissolve. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Once the banana slices has softened, start mashing the slices with your spatula and continue to simmer for 5 to 10 more minutes.
Place a fine mesh strainer over a bowl or large measuring cup and strain the banana simple syrup through, making sure to press down on the mashed bananas.
Let the syrup cool to room temperature and transfer to an airtight container before storing in the fridge or using.
