Heat the milk in a small pot over medium-low heat until it's gently simmering.
Gently whisk in the cocoa powder, chocolate protein powder, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until combined.
Taste and add additional maple syrup if desired.
Pour into a mug or heat-safe glass and serve immediately, topped with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Generally, a scoop of protein powder contains around 25 to 30 grams or 2 to 3 tablespoons. I usually use the scoop that comes with my protein powder. 1 scoop tends to be one serving of protein according to the bag and this recipe uses 2 scoops to make 2 servings of hot chocolate.
