Y’all know I can hold my own weight when it comes to eating but tripcentral.ca gave me a run for my money when they invited me to attend a food tour up in Hamilton, Ontario. I ate SO much that I could barely move by the end of it but hey, I did it! It was a success! So let’s see all the places we were eating in Hamilton!

Stop 1: Jonny Blonde 664 Concession Street, Hamilton, ON L8V 4T9

We started off at Jonny Blonde and oh my god did we have a good start. His Maple Bacon Butter Tarts are literally to die for. We had their scones, cookies, maple bacon butter tart, and Spanish Frittata.

    Stop 2: Mattson & Co 225 Locke St S, Hamilton, ON L8P 4B6

At Mattson and Co, we had the beef short ribs and their farmer’s market charcuterie. I loved the beef short ribs as I have a soft spot for the yukon potato puree.

    Stop 3: Brux House 137 Locke St S, Hamilton, ON L8P 4A7

Let’s talk tater tots. Because Brux House has the best tater tots I’ve had in a while. I’d recommend it x1000 if you’re ever in the neighbourhood. Pictured above is the smoked salmon, tater tots, and the roasted cauliflower.

Stop 4: Berkeley North 31 King William St, Hamilton, ON L8R 1A1

Berkeley North is quite the cozy spot! They had this great shrimp salad (unpictured) and their fresh juices were definitely a plus. Cozy and a healthy spot.

Stop 5: The French 37 King William St, Hamilton, ON L8R 1A1

Literally right down the street from Berkeley North is The French. If it wasn’t for the Maple Bacon Butter Tarts from Jonny Blonde, The French would have been number one in my books. Their Foie Gras & Chicken Liver Parfait was absolutely amazing (I had two and wanted more!) and their Ricotta Gnocchi… oh my goodness. Okay, the more I think about it, the more I think The French should be number one…

Stop 6: La Piazza Allegra 180 James St S, Hamilton, ON L8P 4V1

Eating in Hamilton: A Food Tour

La Piazza Allegra served us this ravioli topped with I think it was braised beef? I can’t seem to find this on their menu and the dish’s name is just escaping my mind! Either way, delicious.

Stop 7: Baci Ristorante 1530 Stone Church Rd E, Hamilton, ON L8W 3P9

Last but not least, we stopped by at Baci. Their stromboli, oh my goodness their stromboli. I had like 4 pieces. I’m going to have to go back and get more. After the stromboli, we had the bruschetta, arancini, and 4 pizzas! Yes please!

Can you believe I managed to eat all that in a day? Yup. I did it! Once I got home, I practically passed out from the food coma. I’d definitely be going back to Hamilton since it’s not that far of a drive away for the food. I love hiking in Hamilton and after a long day, I never work too hard in figuring out where to get food, just some quick fast food/grab and go style but now I have a few home run spots I can stop by! Thanks again to tripcentral who invited me to join them on this food tour!

If you had followed along on Twitter, you might have saw us hashtagging #GourmetGetawayContest as we toured the spots. If you’d like to know more about going on a Gourmet Getaway to Mexico, you can visit this link.

So what do you think? What do you think would be your favourite?
