    Made in less than 10 minutes, these Air Fryer Scallops come together easily and quickly. Perfectly cooked, you’ll enjoy these juicy and tender scallops in no time!

    I love ordering scallops whenever I’m out at a seafood recipe. However, my wallet is less keen on it. So I’ve been buying scallops at Costco and recently decided to attempt to air fryer them. And let me tell you, it’s game-changing: no more flipping the scallops in a pan! Especially since these are smaller scallops, there’s more to flip. You will love making scallops in an air fryer.

    Why You’ll Love This Air Fryer Recipe

    • It takes less than 10 minutes to make. I love an easy quick cooking protein for busy weeknight dinners.
    • It’s tasty! I simply season with salt and pepper then squeeze a bit on lemon on top and it’s perfect. Simple is best for scallops.
    • It goes with everything and works for everything! Enjoy these air fryer scallops as an appetizer, main dish, side dish, or a snack.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

    Ingredients needed to make air fryer scallops.
    • scallops — I used this brand of scallops from Costco. They’re on the smaller side and you can definitely buy larger ones.
    • salt and pepper
    • oil spray
    • optional: lemon wedge

    How to Air Fry Scallops

    Scallops seasoned with salt and pepper.
    • Pat dry the scallops and season with salt and pepper all over.
    • Spray the inside of air fryer basket with cooking oil and place scallops inside inside of the air fryer basket. Make sure to place them in an even layer.
    • Cook at 400°F for 4 to 5 minutes. Cook 5 to 6 minutes for larger scallops.
    • Serve scallops with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

    Recipe Tips

    • Feel free to change up the seasoning. Try a sprinkling of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, or Old Bay seasoning.
    • Scallops are done once they’ve reached an internal temperature of 120°F. Use an instant read thermometer to check!
    My Recommendation
    This is my go-to meat thermometer for making sure that the internal temperature of my meat is good to go. It’s also magnetic so I have it on my fridge door to save drawer space!

    • Always pat dry the scallops before air frying as wet scallops will steam instead.
    • You can spray oil on top of the scallops as well if you prefer for a more golden crust. As my scallops are so small, it will make the scallops dry. Larger scallops can benefit from the extra oil.
    • Melt butter and combine it with minced garlic and drizzle over top of the scallops for extra flavour.

    • 12 to 15 scallops, or less if larger
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • ¼ tsp pepper
    • 1 lemon wedge, optional

      I love your recipes! My question is that I have an air fryer that requires preheating. Unless I’m mistaken, your recipes use an air fryer that doesn’t need to be preheated. How am I to judge?

        Hi Ellen! Thanks :) You are correct, my air fryer doesn’t require preheating. If yours does, I’d shave off a minute or so as scallops are more delicate than like, chicken thighs :)
