Made with only a handful of ingredients, this oven-baked super crispy tofu is so easy and delicious! Coated in a flavorful blend of seasoning and cornstarch, you will want to eat every last bite of these healthy crispy tofu.

This is the easiest way to make super crispy tofu in the oven. It is only a handful of steps with kitchen staples and you can customize it so many ways! It’s one of my favorite proteins to work with for lunch, dinner, meal preps, etc because I don’t have to worry about remembering to thaw something from the freezer.

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • It’s perfect for enjoying on its own, adding it to salads, over some rice, into stir fries, and more!
    • Tofu is high in protein and doesn’t take a lot of work to prepare! Simply press it, toss it in seasoning, and bake it until super crispy.
    • I love the texture of this healthy baked tofu. It’s super crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It’s also great with sauces if you want to add a saucy component to the tofu.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients needed to make super crispy baked tofu.
    • seasoning — I use salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
    • cornstarch — along with the seasoning, the cornstarch helps create a crispy crust on the tofu.
    • nutritional yeast — also known as nooch, nutritional yeast adds a delicious umami flavor to the recipe and helps create the crust.
    • extra firm tofu — make sure you use extra-firm tofu. Even firm tofu wouldn’t be a great swap as extra firm tofu has less water than firm tofu. Extra firm tofu also holds its shape much better and is excellent for slicing, cubing, baking, frying, etc. Make sure the tofu has been pressed beforehand. I highly recommend not skipping this step as it will help excess moisture to be released. This way, the tofu can get crispier and stay crispy! The linked post will show you how to press your tofu without using a tofu press. I’m using Fontaine Sante Tofu, which is 400 grams per pack.
    • oil — I use olive oil, but feel free to use another neutral oil of your choice such as avocado oil.
    • non stick spray — for the sheet pan.

    • Spray a sheet pan with non-stick spray and transfer the coated tofu cubes to the sheet pan, making sure they are evenly spaced and in a single layer.
    • Bake the tofu in the oven for 30 minutes, flipping the tofu with tongs at the halfway point. Let cool and serve.

    Recipe Tips and Notes

    • Make sure you do not overcrowd the tofu on the sheet pan. You want airflow to be able to curricula so it gets nice and crispy.
    • You can swap the seasoning blend with what you have on hand. You can use cajun seasoning, ranch seasoning, sriracha lime seasoning, cumin, dried herbs, and more.
    • Do not use less than 1 tablespoon of oil as it helps the tofu crisp up.
    • If you’re worried about the tofu sticking to the sheet pan, you can use parchment paper.
    • It’s up to you how large you’d like to cut your tofu. You can cut them into smaller cubes or even strips.
    • For each crispier bite, you can hand-tear the tofu block. By hand tearing the tofu, you get more scraggily surface area, so they’ll be a bit more crunchy. I usually slice my tofu for convenience.

    Make Ahead Tips

    • Meal prep: store the cooked crispy tofu in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge. Be sure to let the tofu cool before storing it in the fridge, as it can get soggy if you place the container lid on too early.
    • Reheat: I reheat mine in the air fryer or oven to ensure the tofu stays crispy as it reheats.
