Coming together in 10 minutes, Air Fryer Hash Brown Patties are my weakness! These delicious hash browns are so crispy and require next to no work. These golden brown hash browns are so addictive, you’ll want to make them for breakfast every day!
Once you make frozen hash browns in an air fryer, you’ll never want to cook them any other way. They are absolutely addictive with the crunchy exterior and fluffy interior. Even better, all you have to do is place them in the air fryer. No flipping is needed.
I LOVE McDonald’s breakfast hashbrowns and I always as H to order me two whenever we get their breakfast. I can eat it every day and not get tired of it. However, I don’t drive and don’t live within walking distance of a MickeyD’s so that’s where the air fryer steps in.
Hash browns and air fryers goes hand in hand. The air fryer turns a simple frozen hash brown patty from the grocery store into a crispy golden patty that tastes just like the ones you get at MD. Trust me, you’re going to want to pop them into the air fryer the next time you make breakfast.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- frozen hash brown patties — that’s it! That’s all you need. You don’t even need oil spray. I prefer the hash brown patties from Cavendish Farms and McCain but any brand works great.
How to Cook Frozen Hashbrowns in an Air Fryer
- Place the frozen hash brown patties in the air fryer in a single layer.
- Air fry at 400F for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on how crispy you prefer your hash browns to be.
- Serve immediately when done.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- Don’t thaw the hash browns before adding them to the air fryer.
- Since most frozen hash brown patties already contain oil, there’s no need to spray the basket or the frozen hash browns with oil before cooking.
- If you have larger or smaller hash browns, make sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly. Mine are literally the same size as the ones from McDonald’s.
- Do not overlay or stack the frozen hash browns in the air fryer basket or they won’t cook evenly.
- I don’t like cooking these frozen hashbrowns in the air fryer ahead of time as reheating them doesn’t taste as good as when they’re fresh out of the air fryer. Since they don’t take a ton of effort or time, make them as needed!
- My air fryer basket allows for a lot of hot air to circulate so I do not need to flip mine. If your basket doesn’t have a ton of gaps in it, the hot air won’t reach the bottom of your hash browns so you should flip them.

Can you use an air fryer liner, either silicone or paper?
Carmy
I don’t usually use liners as it blocks the air flow to make them extra crispy!
