Simple, quick, and easy, this Garlic Salt comes together with four simple ingredients. It adds a wonderful savory flavor to anything from garlic bread to soups to popcorn and more!
If you’re looking for a simple seasoning with bold garlic flavors, this homemade garlic salt is an easy mix you can make at home with four simple ingredients.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s super simple to make. Measure everything out and mix it together.
- It’s perfect for adding to popcorn, soups, stews, garlic bread, stir-fries, mashed potatoes, and more!
- It’s easy to adjust the flavors to your preference!
Ingredients You’ll Need

- salt — I use Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt. I do not recommend using table salt. Kosher salt has no iodine, which can lend a bitter taste to foods salted with table salt.
- garlic powder — I like the one from Costco! Garlic powder is made with fresh garlic dehydrated and ground in a fine powder.
- dried parsley — dried parsley adds a bit of brightness.
- onion powder — onion powder adds a little sweet and savory flavor to the garlic salt. Again, Costco is my go-to.
How to Make Garlic Salt

- Combine salt, garlic powder, dried parsley, and onion powder in an airtight container. Store in a cool, dry place until ready to use.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- This is not a direct substitute for standalone powdered garlic or salt.
- You can store this homemade garlic salt for up to 6 months. Make sure it is in a cool, dry place.
- The fresher your ingredients, the longer they’ll last. I recommend using the best quality ingredients you have available as it’ll lead to a good-quality garlic salt!
