    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • Getting dinner ready in under 30 minutes is always a win. You can whip up this vegetable-packed ground turkey teriyaki on a busy weeknight without stressing about making sure you’ve got a filling dinner but also having a veggie side dish on the table.
    • This ground turkey teriyaki stir fry keeps really well, so it’s perfect for meal prepping! It reheats easily in the microwave at work.
    • This recipe uses a ton of simple ingredients and kitchen staples. It’s also super easy to make swaps if you’re missing something!

    Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients needed to make ground turkey teriyaki.

Most of what you need for this ground turkey teriyaki with extra veggies are pantry staples! These are the key ingredients and you can find the full list of ingredients with measurements in the recipe card down below!

homemade teriyaki sauce — for the homemade teriyaki sauce for this stir fry, I based it off my teriyaki sauce recipe but tweaked it a bit so it so would work better with this specific recipe (no need to cook it down first!). You’ll need soy sauce, honey, orange juice (bottled or freshly squeezed from one orange), garlic powder, mirin, and cornstarch. If you’d like a stronger orange flavor, you can even add orange zest!

sesame oil — I’m using sesame oil but you can also use olive oil and any oil of your choice.

onion — I dice up a small yellow onion.

salt — feel free to add more salt than I do, but I find the soy sauce from the teriyaki sauce to be salty enough.

garlic — I always have minced garlic in my freezer as part of my yearly prep. I highly recommend it so you don’t have to mince garlic for every recipe!

ground turkey — you can use lean ground turkey, ground turkey breast, 85% lean turkey, etc. It’s up to you!

bell pepper — I love adding a diced red bell pepper. Feel free to use yellow or orange too.

broccoli — to make things super easy for myself, I’m using frozen broccoli. Using frozen broccoli really cuts down on my prep time. You can also use fresh broccoli! Use what you have.

shredded carrots — sometimes when I want to cut down on prep time, I’ll buy pre-cut carrots. You can also use a box grater to quickly shred your carrots.

rice — it’s optional, but I like to serve this recipe with rice to make it an easy ground turkey teriyaki rice bowl. Noodles or lettuce cups are great too!

garnishes — I finish the dish with green onions and toasted sesame seeds.

    Recipe Tips and Notes

    • Other vegetables you can use include corn, peas, edamame, cauliflower, snap peas, snow peas, and more! Feel free to play around with what you have on hand! This is such an easy recipe to sneak extra vegetables into.
    • Veggies can be cut ahead of time and stored in an airtight container to make preparing this ground beef stir fry faster on busy weeknights.
    • Make this healthy stir fry spicy by adding 2 tablespoons of sriracha sauce to the sauce.
    • Ground pork, chicken, or beef can be swapped into the recipe or mixed in 50/50.
    • The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools.
