Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s very easy to make. It’s so easy that you can even have younger family members help out with the assembly.
- Add your own flair to the naan pizzas! Top them to your heart’s desire. Be careful not to go too heavy, though; you don’t want the toppings to fall off the pizzas.
- This naan pizza is something I like to make when I have a bunch of odds and ends around the house. Naan is freezer-friendly, there’s always cheese in the fridge, and you can use leftover sauce in the fridge (or freezer).
Ingredients You’ll Need

naan — naan is a soft, pillowy flatbread that happens to be freezer-friendly! I always have a pack in my freezer. They make for an amazing base for the cheese pizzas and you don’t have to spend time prepping pizza dough! You can use store-bought naan or make your own! Here’s a link to my homemade flatbread recipe.
marinara sauce — you can use homemade marinara sauce or store-bought. My go-to sauce is Rao’s. You can also get some with additional flavors, such as basil, mushrooms, etc, to change the recipe up.
dried oregano — for a bit of extra flavor.
garlic — I like to grate some garlic onto my sauce, but you can skip that if you’d like.
cheeses — I use both mozzarella and parmesan cheese. The mozzarella creates a melty base and the parmesan adds a great rich, tangy, nutty flavor.
basil & red pepper flakes — optional toppings for the naan pizzas! you can also add the red pepper flakes to your sauce for a bit of extra heat.
How to Make Naan Pizzas

- Heat the oven to 425F.
- Place your naans on a lined sheet pan. Add the marinara sauce to the middle and spread it over using the back of a spoon or spatula, leaving some space at the edge to create a crust.
- Add some dried oregano and grated garlic over the sauce if desired.

- Top the naan with shredded mozzarella, parmesan, and any toppings if desired.
- Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the naan pizza has turned golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting to serve.

Recipe Tips and Notes
- Give the naan pizza a minute or two to cool before cutting to give the cheese a chance to hold together. If you cut too early, the cheese will just be stuck to your knife or pizza cutter.
- One of my favorite swaps is using garlic naan instead of regular naan for extra garlic flavor.
- Other cheeses I love to use include provolone, goat cheese, monterey jack, and burrata.
- If you’re adding veggies such as mushrooms, bell peppers, etc, you’ll want to pre-cook it first as the 8 minutes in the oven won’t be enough to cook the vegetables through.

Make Ahead Tips
- Meal prep: once cooled, store the cooked naan pizza in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
- Freezer: once cooled, wrap the naan pizzas tightly in plastic before transferring to a freezer-safe bag then freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat directly from frozen.
