The secret to the perfect oven baked potato wedges…
- Soak your raw potatoes after cutting them up in hot water for 10-15 minutes before baking as this removes the excess starch from the potatoes. This which prevents the potatoes from sticking together and helps achieve maximum crispness of the wedges.
- Generously season your potato wedges with onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper after patting the potatoes dry and coated with your oil of choice.
- If you want to up the tasty factor of these potato wedges, in the last 5 minutes, add some shaved parmesan on top and finish in the wedges in the oven.
- If you are using all your oven racks for this like I am, be sure to rotate the sheet pans as the sheet pans closest to the heat source will cook faster.
- For an added crisp factor, I gave the potatoes one last spritz of oil before they went in for baking. Just an extra step I take.
How to Bake Potato Wedges in the Oven
- Wash and scrub your potatoes. Cut them in quarters length-wise before cutting them in half width-wise.
- Place the wedges into a bowl on hot water and let them soak for 10-15 minutes. Afterwards, drain the potatoes and pat them dry.
- Coat them with olive oil and generously sprinkle on the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cover your sheet pans with parchment paper or a non-stick oil before placing your wedges evenly onto the pan. Make sure they’re not touching as that gives them room to crisp up.
