These greens-filled turkey pinwheels come together easily for a packed lunch, afterschool snack, or as a party appetizer. It only takes a few minutes to put together with a handful of ingredients.

These turkey pinwheels are a delightful recipe perfect for any occasion. You might know them as a pinwheel, a roll up, or a sandwich roll, but regardless of what you call them, they’re delicious! They’re also easy to customize, so you can change them up and keep from being bored.

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • These are packed with greens in the center, so you’re definitely getting your veggies in for the meal. You can use any type of greens you like, from romaine to spinach, but I’m using a mixture of tender greens with herbs.
    • They’re so easy to make! They literally take me about 5 minutes to throw together, so they’re perfect as a last-minute recipe for lunch or finger food.
    • You don’t need a ton of ingredients! A tortilla, cream cheese, sliced turkey, and greens!

    Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients needed to make turkey pinwheels.
    • tortilla — I use large soft flour tortillas. You can also use the spinach ones if you want to squeeze a little extra greens into your meal.
    • cream cheese — I use regular cream cheese, but there are so many options here! You can use herbs and garlic, onion, jalapeno cheddar, and more! You can also skip the cream cheese and use another soft cheese, such as Boursin cheese. Those come in a ton of flavors as well!
    • sliced turkey — I use sliced turkey from the deli counter, but nothing is stopping you from using leftover roasted turkey. Slice your own from your leftovers!
    • greens — as mentioned earlier, I’m using a tender greens mix with fresh herbs, but spinach, kale, romaine, or your favorite greens will work.

    How to Make Turkey Pinwheels

Set of two photos showing cream cheese spread onto a tortilla and turkey slices added.
    • Spread ¼ of the cream cheese across a tortilla.
    • Place two slices (or more) of turkey on one half of the tortilla.
Set of two photos showing greens added to the tortilla, rolled, and cut.
    • Place the greens over the sliced turkey.
    • Roll the pinwheel from the turkey covered side, using both hands and rolling tightly and tucking the greens into the roll as you go.
    • Cut the roll into 6 and place them into an airtight container in the fridge if not serving immediately.

    Recipe Tips and Notes

    • Leaving half of the tortilla covered in just cream cheese will help keep the pinwheels together! Think of the cream cheese as the glue that holds it all together. It won’t work if there’s turkey or greens over.
    • Store’s out of turkey? Try this with roast beef slices or sliced chicken!
    • Want more cheesy flavor? Add shredded or sliced cheese!
    • Not a fan of cream cheese? Try Boursin cheese, laughing cow cheese, onion dip, hummus, whipped cottage cheese, or anything with a similar texture!

    Make Ahead Tips

    • Meal prep: store the turkey pinwheels in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.
    • Freezer: I don’t recommend freezing turkey pinwheels. Since they take only a couple of minutes to assemble, I would make them fresh.
