These frozen banana snickers bites are a delightful treat that you can whip up with a handful of ingredients. Inspired by a Snickers chocolate bar, these frozen bites are a healthier alternative that features banana slices topped with caramel, peanut butter, and peanuts drizzled with melted chocolate.
Sweet and salty, these banana snickers bites are the perfect recipe to satisfy your sweet tooth! They are the perfect snack to have on hand in your freezer and they are super easy to make.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- You only need six ingredients to make these frozen banana snickers.
- While I love these refreshing snicker bites in the summer, they’re a great treat to enjoy year-round.
- They’re very simple to make. The hardest part about these banana snickers is waiting for them to firm up in the freezer before taking a bite.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- bananas — you want ripe bananas but not too ripe. They need to be firm enough to hold up the toppings, but you still want them to be sweet. I use two large bananas, but you can use up to 3 bananas, depending on how thick you want each layer of each ingredients to be.
- caramel — I’m using homemade date caramel. It’s a healthier alternative to traditional caramel sauce.
- peanut butter — it’s best to use natural peanut butter as it is more runny and easier to drizzle. You can swap the peanut butter for any nut butter if your choice.
- peanuts — I add roasted peanuts for some added crunch, just like in a traditional snicker’s candy bar. If you’re not a fan of peanuts, you can use chopped almonds, cashews, walnuts, or pecans. Seeds are a great alternative as well.
- chocolate chips — you can use your favorite chocolate chips or chopped chocolate. I’m using mini semi-sweet chocolate chips. Dark chocolate chips are a great option, too.
- coconut oil — combining the chocolate chips with coconut oil helps thin out the melted chocolate so it’s easier to drizzle.
How to Make Banana Snickers Bites
- Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and place the sliced bananas in a single layer with a small gap in between them.
- Drizzle the caramel over all of the banana slices.
- Drizzle peanut butter over the caramel covered banana slices.
- Sprinkle the peanuts over the banana slices.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave on high in 20-second increments, stirring in between until the chocolate is fully melted.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate over the banana slices. Freeze for 1 to 2 hours or until everything has firmed up. When frozen, enjoy or transfer to a freezer-safe bag to store in the freezer.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- Feel free to add as much or as little of each ingredient! Sometimes I prefer these to be more heavy on the chocolate, so I add more. You can also freeze them before drizzling them with chocolate and then dunk them entirely into the melted chocolate.
- If you want, you can spread each ingredient evenly over each banana slice. I prefer a quick drizzle as it’s faster and easier.
- Want to make these into larger bites? Cut each banana in half and then slice it length-wise, like a banana split, and drizzle each ingredient on top.
- You can top these snicker bites off with flaky salt before freezing if you’d like a saltier kick.
Make Ahead Tips
- Once the frozen banana snickers have set in the freezer, transfer them to a freezer-safe container like these Stasher bags so you can grab a couple out to enjoy whenever the craving hits. Don’t keep them out in the freezer uncovered on the sheet pan for too long, as they can absorb the scents from the freezer.
- Keep the frozen snicker bites in the freezer for up to 3 months.
