Made with only a handful of ingredients, these Strawberry Yogurt Bites are the perfect little treat or as a smoothie add-in. They come together in a few simple steps and are the perfect make-ahead recipe.
The cousin of my strawberry yogurt bark, these strawberry yogurt bites are so fun to eat! If you have an abundance of fresh berries, then this recipe is for you!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- You can enjoy these little yogurt bites as a snack, blended into a smoothie, or as a part of another dessert 🍨. They’re quite versatile and I love having them on hand in the freezer.
- They’re a great way to use up an abundance of strawberries or yogurt. Sometimes it feels like these ingredients expire as soon as you buy them. So, to extend the shelf life of these, I freeze them!
- You can change things up! Switch the strawberries for any other fruit and vanilla yogurt for any flavoured yogurt.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- yogurt — I use vanilla Icelandic-style yogurt as it was the only vanilla yogurt in stock when I went to the store but Greek yogurt is the perfect alternative. I’ve made it with both! Fun fact, skyr has a higher protein content than Greek yogurt!
- honey — I use honey as a sweetener but you can use maple syrup as well.
- strawberries — while you can use any fruit or berry, I use fresh strawberries for this recipe.
How to Make Frozen Strawberry Yogurt Bites
- Mix together yogurt and honey until well combined.
- Add in the diced strawberries and gently fold until combined.
- Transfer the mixture to an ice cube tray and top with any leftover strawberries if desired.
- Cover with plastic wrap or a lid and freeze for 4 hours or until frozen. Enjoy as-is or added to a smoothie. Keep leftovers in the tray or transferred them to a freezer-safe bag.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- For aesthetic reasons, I left larger chunks of strawberries in the cube. You can do that if you prefer but small chunks are ideal!
- If you only have plain yogurt, you can add a splash of vanilla extract along with the honey.
Storage Tips
- Meal prep: once frozen, place the pieces of yogurt bites into an airtight container or bag for up to 3 months in the freezer. Take out the frozen yogurt bite from the freezer for a minute or so before enjoying it so they’re not too hard.
