It’s hard to go wrong with this firecracker sauce! This firecracker chicken meatball recipe is great as a meal prep or as a party appetizer since they’re bite-sized as well as easy to eat with a toothpick.
What You’ll Need To Make these Firecracker Meatballs
- chicken meatballs (you can either make your own like I did, link to my recipe, or if you’re in a rush, buy pre-made!)
- firecracker sauce
How To Make This Firecracker Chicken Meatballs
- Heat your oven to 400F.
- Start by making your own meatballs or prep your pre-made ones.
- If making your own meatballs, bake them for 10-12 minutes. While your meatballs are baking, combine the ingredients for the firecracker sauce and set aside. After 10-12 minutes, take out your chicken meatballs and brush them with the firecracker sauce or dip them in the sauce to fully coat the meatballs. Bake for 2 more minutes before taking them out and giving them a second coat of the firecracker sauce. Bake for 1-2 minutes again.
- If you’re baking pre-made meatballs, follow the directions on the bag and pull them out 4 minutes before they’re done baking and coat the meatballs in the sauce as directed above.
- Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.
How To Make This Firecracker Chicken Meatballs Freezer Friendly
- Freeze your raw meatballs in a single layer on a lined sheet pan for an hour or until solid and store in a large freezer safe ziploc or airtight container. Meatballs can be baked from frozen or thawed afterwards. If cooking from frozen, increase the cook time by 5-10 minutes before starting the process of coating the meatballs with firecracker sauce.
- If you are freezing cooked meatballs, let them cool completely before putting them in a freezer safe ziploc bag and place in the freezer. When you are ready to eat, let them thaw in the refrigerator. You can reheat them in the microwave or oven, making sure the coat the meatballs in the firecracker sauce first or reheat the meatballs in a pot of firecracker sauce on the stove top.
