Canada’s egg farming sector stepped up in a big way, donating millions of eggs to food banks across Canada.

Instant Pot Devilled Eggs

Devilled eggs are a classic appetizer and potluck dish. It can be made ahead of time, it’s the perfect finger food, and it is so easy to make it look fancy without spending hours working on it!

While adorably fancy looking, this lox and bagel inspired Instant Pot Devilled Egg recipe takes little to no time to make at all. Combiningg my love for bagel and lox with the classic devilled egg, you’ll definitely have a crowd pleaser on your hands.

To make life easier, I love using the Instant Pot to make these devilled eggs. Not only can you fit a ton of eggs in there if you’ve got a large batch to make, the Instant Pot makes these eggs so easy to peel. Plus, if you’re a multitasker like I am, having the eggs cook in the Instant Pot means the stove is not tied up and can be used for another recipe.

What You’ll Need To Make Instant Pot Devilled Eggs

  • eggs – older eggs are preferred over new fresh eggs as they are easier to peel. Also, ensure that they are room temperature to avoid them cracking under pressure.
  • mayonnaise
  • Dijon mustard
  • apple cider vinegar
  • Everything Bagel seasoning
  • lox or smoked salmon – lox is saltier than smoked salmon so it is up to you what you’d like to use
  • bagel crackers

How To Make Devilled Eggs

  • Place your eggs on a trivet inside of your Instant Pot before adding in 1 cup of water.
  • Close your lid, set the valve to sealing, and set your manual pressure.
  • Set your Instant Pot to 7 to 8 minutes, depending on how large your eggs are.
  • Quick release once done and immediately place them in an ice bath using tongs.
  • Peel once cool to touch and cut in half lengthwise before separating the egg whites from the egg yolks with a spoon.
  • To your egg yolks, add in the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar and combine by mashing everything together with a fork.
  • Using a spoon or a piping bag with the tip of your choice, add the egg yolk back into the egg whites as evenly as possible.
  • Sprinkle on some Everything Bagel seasoning on top of each deviled egg before adding a bagel cracker and a small piece of sliced salmon on top.

Tips and Notes

  • If you want to add more smoked salmon/lox onto your deviled eggs, you can always place the salmon in the egg white before adding the yolks in.
  • If you prefer a smoother filling, you can always use a food processor to blend your filling.
  • Not a fan of mayo? Try plain Greek yogurt.

Don’t have Everything Bagel Seasoning? Here’s How to DIY

  • 2 teaspoon sea salt flakes
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds

How to Make Devilled Eggs Ahead of Time
