You only need three ingredients to make this air fryer everything bagel salmon. It makes for the perfect weeknight dinner as it comes together so quickly and easily! Perfectly tender and full of flavor, this air fryer salmon recipe will be your new go-to recipe!
Air fryer salmon is one of those recipes that barely needs a recipe. You just pop it into the air fryer and let it do its thing! I don’t even measure out this recipe when I’m just quickly making dinner. It’s that simple! You can’t go wrong.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- You only need 3 ingredients (plus oil spray) to make this everything but the bagel salmon recipe. You more than likely have everything on hand already!
- It’s perfect for anything you have in your pantry. This salmon is great over rice, noodles, salad, or even in a wrap!
- It’s flavorful, maybe even too flavorful! Keep in mind that everything but the bagel seasoning can be strong if you’re too heavy handed.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- salmon fillets — I am using wild-caught salmon with the skin on, but feel free to use whatever you have on hand. If your fillets are frozen, fully thaw them before preparing this recipe.
- Dijon mustard — this adds a tangy, salty, spicy, and bold flavor to the salmon.
- everything but the bagel seasoning — everything bagel seasoning is simply the seasoning that is used on everything bagels: sesame seeds, both white and black, poppy seeds, dried onion and garlic flakes, and flakey sea salt. It has a salty and savory flavor.
How to Make Air Fryer Everything Bagel Salmon
- Pat dry the salmon fillets with paper towels.
- Spread the Dijon mustard on the top of the salmon and then sprinkle the everything but the bagel seasoning over the Dijon mustard to create a crust.
- Transfer the salmon to the air fryer basket and air fry the salmon for 6 to 8 minutes, depending on the size, at 400°F.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- I was a little heavy-handed in the Dijon mustard, so the mustard can be seen in the photos, but keep in mind that too much Dijon can make the a little too salty. ½ to 1 tablespoon of Dijon is all you need per fillet, depending on the size of it.
- Depending on the brand of everything but the bagel seasoning you use, the seasoning can be on the saltier side. If you’re worried that this crust will be too salty, use less everything but the bagel seasoning.
- Skip the dijon mustard if you are not a fan. You can pour the seasoning into a shallow plate and press the tops of the salmon fillets into the seasoning to make them stick to the salmon.
- Make sure always to pat dry the salmon. Any moisture will cause the salmon to steam instead of sear.
- You can easily double in this recipe as I can usually fit 4 fillets in the air fryer basket.
Make Ahead Tips
- Meal prep: once cooled, refrigerate salmon in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the fridge.
- Freezer: while you can freeze cooked salmon in an airtight container for up to 3 months, the texture of the salmon may change. I recommend making salmon fresh when needed.
Not to worry, you can easily make everything but the bagel seasoning at home but you don’t have the seasoning. Here’s what you need:
3 teaspoons white sesame seeds
2½ teaspoons dried minced onion
2½ teaspoons dried minced garlic
2½ teaspoons black sesame seeds
2 teaspoon sea salt flakes
1 teaspoon poppy seeds
The salmon’s internal temperature should reach 145°F (62°C). You can use a meat thermometer to check. If you do not have one, you can use a fork and flake the salmon to check. The salmon will flake easily if it’s done.
Enjoy the salmon chilled or reheated the salmon in the air fryer. It only takes a couple of minutes at 400°F.
