Want to get breakfast quickly on the table? Try this Air Fryer Sausage Links recipe! You can cook your breakfast sausage in the air fryer quickly and easily in 10 minutes while you work on the rest of your breakfast. Even better, they’re less greasy than cooking them on the stovetop!
I’m all about having easy mornings. The less work, the better! I love how I can cook sausage links in the air fryer in a blink of an eye. There’s no grease splattering around, there’s no need to constantly turn them, and they’re done in 10 quick minutes. In that time, I’m able to scramble or fry up some eggs and just like that, a simple breakfast is ready to go. Once you’ve tried this method, you won’t want to go back!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- sausage links — that’s it! No need to add oil or anything. You just need some breakfast sausage links. I prefer to use fresh sausage links. If you buy them in bulk and freeze them, you can thaw them ahead of time or add a few extra minutes to cook them from frozen.
How to Cook Sausage Links in an Air Fryer
- Add the breakfast sausages to the air fryer basket in a single layer. Try not to pack them in tightly so the hot air can reach them evenly.
- Air fry the sausage links at 375F for 10 minutes, giving the basket a shake at the halfway mark.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- I love drizzling some maple syrup over the breakfast sausages before serving.
- The sausages will be puffy after air frying then deflate and look a little wrinkly once cooled. It’s perfectly normal!
- Add a few extra minutes if they’ve been frozen beforehand.
Similar to bacon or any other high fat/grease items, there may be some smoking. To decrease the chances of white smoke, make sure the air fryer is clean before using it. Burnt food, leftover crumbs, and grease in the air fryer will smoke. If you want to prevent smoking, you can add a few splashes of water to the bottom of the air fryer before using. Another suggestion is to add some bread to the bottom to soak up the grease as the sausages cook but I feel like that’s a waste of good bread!
The exterior of the breakfast sausages should be brown to indicate doneness. You can also use a meat thermometer to make sure sausage has reached an internal temperature of 160F.
Nope! The sausages do not require any extra oil to cook in an air fryer.
Make Ahead Tips
- Leftovers: once cooled, store the cooked sausage links in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge. Reheat them in a microwave or air fryer.
- Freezer: allow the air fryer sausage links to cool before transferring them into an airtight container before storing them in the freezer. They can last for up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight before reheating.

Air fryer sausage links were more evenly cooked than any I’ve ever done in the skillet. Cooking them was simply set it and forget it except for moving them around a bit halfway through. I like mine a little more done than most, so I might add another minute next time.
