    Air Fryer Bacon

    Who doesn’t love crispy bacon? When in a rush, making bacon in the air fryer is so quick and easy! Here’s how to make Air Fryer Bacon.

    On the days where I don’t feel like turning on the oven to make bacon or if I’m only making 3 to 5 strips for H and I, the air fryer is a great hands-free alternative to pan frying.

    Why Air Frying Bacon Works

    • It’s quick as it only requires 10 minutes. Quite faster than the 18 to 20 in the oven AND the preheating time for the oven. My air fryer doesn’t require preheating so it’s just 10 minutes flat.
    • It’s easy as it’s hands-off. You just add the bacon to the air fryer and then turn it on.
    • There’s no splattering. Unlike pan frying bacon, there’s no splattering with air fryer bacon. I also add just under 1 cup of water to the air fryer basket to keep smoking at bay and to prevent any chances of splattering. Plus, clean up is easier with the water in the air fryer preventing any grease from baking on.

    How to Air Fry Bacon

    • Add bacon to the air fryer basket as evenly as possible. I try to avoid overlapping and making sure every surface area of the bacon is exposed to the air fryer.
    • If adding more than 4 to 5 strips of bacon, you can use a trivet to add a couple more strips to prevent the bacon from overlapping.
    • Air fry bacon for 10 minutes at 400F. Take a look at around the 8 minute mark as thinner bacon will cook faster.
    • When done, transfer the bacon to a paper towel lined plate to absorb any extra oil before serving.

    Tips

    • If any parts of the bacon have somehow overlapped and didn’t crisp up, simply try to straighten it a bit before air frying for 1 to 2 minutes at 250F or until it’s been cooked through. The lower temperature prevents the cooked portion from burning.
    • Note that different models of air fryers make work differently. If yours requires preheating, please do so. If you find yours runs hot, lower to 375F to air fry your bacon.
    • While some may suggest adding bread to the air fryer basket to soak up the grease of the bacon, adding the water is much easier to clean.

    Make Ahead Tips

    • Meal prep: store the cooked bacon in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge.
    • Freezer: allow the bacon to cool before transferring it into an airtight container before storing them in the freezer for up to 3 months.
