Made with a handful of pantry staples, this whipped cottage cheese ranch dip comes together in seconds! Creamy, high in protein, and flavorful, this ranch dip with cottage cheese is perfect for serving alongside some vegetables as a dip or used in a wrap, sandwich, or salad.
I’ve been on a dip kick lately and making all my favorites, but lightened-up has been such a fun experiment! From my Greek yogurt spinach and artichoke dip, to my caramelized onion dip with Greek yogurt, to my Greek yogurt fruit dip, I honestly can’t choose a favorite. Today, I’m adding this cottage cheese ranch dip to the rotation, and you’re going to want to as well!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s so easy to make! Like my whipped cottage cheese recipe, you just add everything to the food processor and let it work its magic!
- You more than likely have everything already in your kitchen! If you’ve cooked from my blog before, then the seasonings are already in your cupboards. Plus if you meal prep my cottage cheese egg bites, cottage cheese pasta bake, or high protein cheesecake jars, then you’re likely to have cottage cheese in your fridge.
- You can use this healthy ranch dip in so many ways! I usually add it to a snacky meal prep by packing it with some baby carrots, but I also will use it in wraps and sandwiches. It’s so nice to have on hand, so I don’t have to think about what to add to my lunches.
Ingredients You’ll Need

cottage cheese — cottage cheese is a low-calorie cheese with a mild flavor. It’s soft, white, and creamy, and it comes in different milk fat levels and curd sizes. I’m using 2% MF (2% milk fat) and usually just pick whichever container is on sale (from 4% to lactose-free!)! I’d skip the low-fat version, as you want the extra fat to make it creamy. Cottage cheese is a wonderful source of protein, as half a cup of 2% MF cottage cheese (110 grams) usually has 12 grams of protein!
seasoning — I use dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and kosher salt. While you can totally use a package of ranch seasoning, I like being able to tweak each ingredient to my liking (especially as a garlic fan lol).
How to Make Cottage Cheese Ranch Dip

- To a food processor (I really like my KitchenAid one!), add the cottage cheese, dried parsley, dried dill, garlic powder, onion powder, and kosher salt.
- Blend for 1 to 2 minutes or until smooth and creamy.

- Once the ranch dip has come together, taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
- Serve immediately or transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge until ready to use.

Recipe Tips and Notes
- If you want the ranch dip to have a runnier consistency, you can add a bit of Greek yogurt to help thin it out. The Greek yogurt will also add a tangy flavor.
- If you don’t have a food processor, you can also use a blender. Unfortunately, this recipe does require one or the other so that the cottage cheese can go from its lumpy consistency to smooth. If you don’t mind the texture of the cottage cheese curds, you can hand mix everything together.
- Some of my favorite veg to serve this ranch dip with are carrots, sliced red bell peppers, broccoli, snap peas, cucumber, celery, radishes, or cauliflower.
- As this is cottage cheese-based, make sure not to let the dip sit out for too long!
- Make sure to give the homemade ranch dip a taste before storing. Some days, I like to add extra onion powder or garlic powder but other days, I’m craving a stronger dill flavor.
- If possible, let the dip sit in the fridge for a bit as it gives time for the flavors to meld together and it tastes more flavorful after chilling for a bit in the fridge!

Make Ahead Tips
- Meal prep: once combined, store in an airtight container for up to 5 days in the fridge.
- Freezer: I would not recommend freezing this recipe.
