Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Thanks to the Greek yogurt and peanut butter, this peanut butter dip is full of protein, making for a filling and nourishing snack.
- It takes literally less than 10 minutes to whip together! You just have to add everything into a bowl and mix.
- You only need 5 simple ingredients. You most likely have them all on hand!
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Greek yogurt — plain or vanilla-flavored Greek yogurt is ideal for this dip. You can use low-fat or regular Greek yogurt, but I prefer regular. While regular yogurt is great, this recipe uses Greek yogurt as it is thicker, tangier, and more protein-rich than regular yogurt. Greek yogurt is also higher in protein and lower in sugar than regular yogurt.
- peanut butter — make sure to use unsweetened to avoid too much added sugar. You can adjust the sweetness by adding maple syrup. Natural peanut butter is great as it’s more runny and easier to stir into the Greek yogurt. You can also make homemade peanut butter by blending together peanuts. Peanut butter is full of heart-healthy, monounsaturated fats, micronutrients, and a source of plant-based protein, making for a great addition to this peanut butter dip.
- vanilla extract — I like using real vanilla extract over artificial extract. You can also use vanilla bean paste!
- cinnamon — for a hint of warmth. Cinnamon also pairs nicely with peanut butter.
- maple syrup — you can use maple syrup or honey to sweeten this yogurt dip.
How to Make Peanut Butter Greek Yogurt Dip
- Add the Greek yogurt, peanut butter, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and maple syrup (or honey) to a bowl.
- Mix well to combine and serve with the fruits of your choice.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- If you’re packing this out for a party or picnic, I highly recommend packing it in a cooler bag with an ice pack.
- If you have the time to chill the healthy yogurt dip, it gives time for the flavors to meld together and develop.
- I use 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, but you can use less, depending on how sweet your yogurt is.
- This fruit dip is not just for fruit! I love serving graham crackers, pretzels, and cookies alongside the fruit.
- If your fruit dip is a little too thick for your liking, you can add a splash of orange juice to thin it out while adding a citrusy flavor.
Make Ahead Tips
- Meal prep: store the Greek yogurt dip in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge. You can also portion them out into small individual containers with some fruit to bring to work or school! Just make sure to pack an ice pack!
- Freezer: I would not recommend freezing this fruit dip for another day. The texture won’t hold up when you thaw it.
