Made with only a handful of ingredients, this copycat iced apple crisp oatmilk macchiato is a refreshing but cozy drink to start off your day. It’s so easy to make at home, you’ll have it ready faster than heading out to your closest cafe.
If you’re a fan of cozy apple flavors, you’ll love this iced apple crisp macchiato! It uses a warming apple cinnamon syrup and is perfect for when fall hits. Plus, you can make it in seconds if you’ve prepared the syrup ahead of time.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- You don’t need anything fancy to make this macchiato recipe! You probably have most of the ingredients at home.
- This copycat version is perfect if you’re on a budget, as it does add up when picking up a drink daily.
- It’s so easy to make! I make this caramel macchiato at home very often and this apple crisp version is just as easy. The syrup is easily made at home as well.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- apple brown sugar syrup — here is my recipe for apple brown sugar syrup! It’s so easy to make. Want a quick overview? Simmer together 1 cup water, 1 cup brown sugar, an apple, and some cinnamon sticks until the apples are super soft. Mush them up, then strain into an airtight container. It’s so easy to make simple syrups at home with a handful of ingredients.
- milk — you can use homemade oat milk or storebought! You can also swap it to another milk if you prefer but if you want a straight copycat drink, you’ll need oat milk.
- espresso — what sets SB’s iced apple crisp oatmilk macchiato apart from their shaken espresso is the espresso! The shaken espresso requires 3 shots of espresso, but the macchiato uses 2. I’m using a vanilla pod from Nespresso, so it has vanilla flavor combined with sweet biscuits and cereal notes. Feel free to brew any espresso of your choice with your preferred method. SB uses their blonde espresso roast.
- ice
How to Make Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato
- Prepare your coffee. I use a coffee maker.
- To a glass or mug, add the apple cinnamon syrup.
- Add the milk.
- Add ice to the milk.
- Pour the espresso gently over the top of the milk.
- Top with additional syrup if desired.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- Starbuck tops their drink off with a spiced apple drizzle. You can simply cook down extra syrup with a dash of nutmeg until it’s a thick, drizzle-y consistency. I usually just skip it at home.
- If you’d like for the drink to be sweeter but don’t want the apple flavor to be too overwhelming, you can add a splash of maple syrup or simple syrup (or my brown sugar syrup!).
- Instead of ice, freeze extra coffee in an ice tray and use it in the latte to avoid it getting watered down! I do this with my matcha often to keep my matcha latte from being watery!
Make Ahead Tips
- You can make the apple brown sugar syrup ahead of time! More info about that in my guide about it.
