These homemade mini pizza bagel bites are an easy bite-sized lunch or snack! They come together so quickly and are perfect for both kids and adults! All you need are four simple ingredients and 20 minutes.

These little homemade pizza bagels are one of my all-time favorite treats! They’re so easy to make, and you can customize them in so many different ways. They’re great as a light lunch, an afterschool snack, or a party appetizer!

While this recipe is inspired by bagel bites, I’m actually using mini slider buns for these because when shoot day came, I could not find mini bagels at 4 different stores! So this recipe is definitely easily adapted for whatever you have on hand.

    Why You’ll Love This Recipe

    • I love how I can make this recipe easily with four ingredients!
    • They’re much more budget-friendly to make at home in bulk and then freezing them for later than buying them from the frozen section.
    • You can be much more generous with your toppings than store-bought. You can also customize them however you’d like. Try them with veggies or shredded meat!

    Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients needed to make homemade mini pizza bagels.

bread base — feel free to use mini bagels, mini slider buns, English muffins, or even mini naans! You’ll have to decrease the temperature and cook time for English muffins and mini naans, though, as they’re thinner. I would start with 350F and half the baking time and just keep an eye on them and take them out once the cheese has melted.

marinara sauce — I love Rao’s marinara sauce and always have a couple of jars from Costco in my pantry. You can also use homemade marinara sauce if you prefer to make marinara sauce from scratch.

shredded mozzarella cheese — feel free to play around with the cheese. Use a combination of mozzarella and parmesan, use a four-cheese blend, etc.

mini pepperoni slices — if you cannot find mini pepperoni slices, I’ve used a mandolin to slice mini pepperoni sticks! You can also use regular pepperoni slices and cut them into quarters. Use regular or turkey pepperoni for a slightly lighter option!

How to Make Homemade Mini Pizza Bagels

Set of two photos showing marinara sauce and shredded cheese added to the mini breads on a lined sheet pan.
    • Heat the oven to 425F.
    • Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and place your mini bagels onto the sheet pan, cut-side up.
    • Spread a tablespoon of marinara sauce on each bagel and top them with a tablespoon of shredded cheese.

    • Top them with the mini pepperoni slices or topping of choice.
    • Bake in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until the mozzarella cheese has melted and is bubbly and the pepperoni slices are crispy to your liking.

    Recipe Tips and Notes

    • If you want your base to be more toasty, you can toast them in the oven for a couple of minutes before adding the marinara sauce and toppings to them.
    • Don’t have marinara sauce? You can also use pizza sauce or jarred pasta sauce.
    • Avoid adding too many toppings to the mini bagel bites, as you risk it falling off the base.
    • Change up the sauce! Pesto, alfredo sauce, and BBQ sauce are also popular options.

    Topping Ideas

Here are some ideas of what else you can add to your mini bagel bites:

    • Grilled chicken or shredded chicken
    • Sweetcorn
    • Onions
    • Bell peppers
    • Mushrooms
    • Ham
    • Olives
    • Pineapple
    • Basil
    • Bacon
    • Fresh tomatoes
    • Asiago cheese
    • Parmesan cheese
    • Romano cheese
    • Feta cheese
    • Provolone cheese

    Make Ahead Tips

    • Meal prep: once cooled, store in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the fridge.
    • Freezer: after cooling, transfer them into an airtight container before storing them in the freezer. They can last for up to 3 months.
    • Reheat: I highly recommend reheating in an oven (or toaster oven) or air fryer so they don’t get soggy. If frozen, reheat from frozen without thawing.
