The perfect side dish to go with any meal, this Air Fryer Mushrooms recipe will not disappoint!
Air Fryer Mushrooms
As a mushroom lover, I almost always have a pack on my kitchen counter ready to be eaten. It’s such a simple but delicious side dish that goes with everything!
After my success with air frying brussels sprouts, I was curious as to what other produce would taste better (and cook faster!) in the air fryer. So with my container of mushroom sitting on my counter, I decided to give it a go!
How Long for Mushrooms to Cook in the Airfryer
The end result was pretty much the prefect roasted mushrooms anyone could ask for done in 10 minutes. Seriously, 10! While it may take a minute or two faster on the stove top, the benefit of making this healthy mushroom side dish in the air fryer is that it’s hands off. There’s no sautéing involved and you don’t have to keep an eye on it. Here’s how you can easily make healthy air fry mushrooms at home!
What You’ll Need To Make Mushrooms in an Air Fryer
- mushrooms, cremini
- olive oil
- soy sauce, low sodium
- salt
- garlic powder
- pepper
How To Roast Mushrooms in the Air Fryer
- Quarter your mushrooms and coat with the olive oil, soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Place your mushrooms the air fryer basket, avoid overcrowding it.
- Set your air fryer to 400F and air fry for 10 minutes, giving the basket a shake half way through.
- Serve immediately with some garnish of choice if you desire. I garnished mine with fresh basil.
Tips on Making Mushrooms in the Air Fryer
- The mushrooms will shrink in the air fryer so don’t be surprised when you take your basket out and the mushrooms seems to have decreased!
- Change up the flavours by swapping out the garlic powder for dried herbs of your choice such as rosemary or thyme.
- When cutting up your mushrooms, try and cut them into even sized slices so that the mushrooms are cooked evenly.
- Soy sauce can be substituted with Worcestershire sauce if you do not want to use soy sauce.
- This recipe was tested in the Philips XXL Air Fryer so if you have a smaller air fryer, you might have to change the cook time. I also do not preheat the air fryer as the Philips XXL does not require preheating. Yours may or may not require preheating.
