Why You’ll Love Honey Garlic Lime Shrimp
I cannot get enough of this honey garlic lime shrimp. It is full of flavour, deliciously seared, and that hit of lime is just so refreshing! I’ve really been digging shrimp as it only takes a couple minutes to cook through so you can have dinner on the table in minutes.
What You’ll Need To Make Honey Garlic Lime Shrimp
- olive oil
- butter: I use unsalted butter as we add salt later on
- shrimp: rinsed, deveined and shells removed
- garlic
- honey
- lime juice
- salt
- paprika: I prefer smoked paprika for this recipe but you can also use sweet paprika if its what you have.
How To Make Honey Garlic Lime Shrimp
- Heat up a cast-iron pan over medium high heat and add in the olive oil and butter.
- Add in the garlic and sauté until lightly browned before adding the shrimp. Avoiding moving the shrimp too much – let the shrimp sear on one side before flipping them over and letting the other side sear.
- Add in the honey, lime juice, salt, and paprika. Stir the shrimp and make sure the shrimps are all fully coated.
- Once the shrimps are all perfectly seared to your liking/cooked through, remove from heat and serve.
Tips and Notes on Cooking Shrimp
- I use both olive oil and butter because the olive oil is to prevent burning while the butter is there to add flavour.
- I suggest using a well seasoned cast-iron which will sear your shrimp perfectly and add that seared flavour to your shrimp or a good quality non-stick pan.
- If your cast-iron isn’t large enough, sear the shrimp in two batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Be sure you have pat dry your shrimp before adding it into the cast iron.
How To Make Honey Garlic Lime Shrimp into a Meal Prep
- To turn this shrimp into an easy honey garlic lime shrimp meal prep, I paired it with some coconut rice and snap peas.
- Here’s my recipe for stovetop coconut rice (link coming soon) and Instant Pot coconut rice. It can be easily made at the same time as the shrimp.
- Store in the fridge for up to four days in an airtight container.
