Creamy, sweet, and cozy, this iced apple crisp oatmilk shaken espresso is just as delish as the original but easily made at home! This Starbucks copycat recipe is full of sweet apple flavor spiced with cinnamon, making for a delightful drink for autumn.
If you love getting the iced apple crisp oatmilk shaken espresso at SB but want to make it at home, you shockingly don’t need a ton of ingredients! It comes together easily and is perfect for fall!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- You don’t need anything fancy to make this shaken espresso! You probably have most of the ingredients at home.
- It’s very easy to make. A shaken espresso is literally as named, you shake the espresso and just like that, you’ve got a wonderfully foamy drink.
- This copycat version is perfect if you want to keep on a budget, as it does add up when picking up a drink daily.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- apple brown sugar syrup — here is my recipe for apple brown sugar syrup! It’s so easy to make. Want a quick overview? Simmer together 1 cup water, 1 cup brown sugar, an apple, and some cinnamon sticks until the apples are super soft. Mush them up then strain it into an airtight container. It’s so easy to make simple syrups at home with a handful of ingredients.
- espresso — what sets SB’s iced apple crisp oatmilk shaken espresso apart from their iced macchiato is the espresso! The shaken espresso requires 3 shots of espresso. I’m using a vanilla pod from Nespresso, so it has vanilla flavor combined with sweet biscuits and cereal notes. Feel free to brew any espresso of your choice with your preferred method. SB uses their blonde espresso roast.
- ice — you’ll need some ice to shake with your espresso to get it nice and foamy and cold.
- milk — you can use homemade oat milk or storebought! You can also swap it to another milk if you prefer but if you want an accurate drink, you’ll need oat milk.
How to Make Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso
- To a mason jar add the apple brown sugar syrup and espresso.
- Add ice to the espresso, place the lid on tightly, and shake until the desired amount of foam has formed.
- Transfer the espresso and ice to a glass and add the oat milk.
- Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- Make sure to allow the espresso to cool slightly before shaking it with ice. If you add ice to hot espresso, it’ll melt immediately and water down the espresso.
- I recommend avoiding tiny ice cubes as they’ll melt quickly. The large ice cubes will hold up better as you shake it.
- Make sure there’s enough space in the mason jar you use to shake the espresso in for the foam to form!
- If you’d like for the drink to be sweeter but don’t want the apple flavor to be too overwhelming, you can add a splash of maple syrup or simple syrup (or my brown sugar syrup!).
Make Ahead Tips
- You can make the apple brown sugar syrup ahead of time! More info about that in my guide about it.
