    Easy Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad

Holiday season can be rough. It always feels like there’s 101 things going on in the kitchen at once that needs your attention. However, I’ve got your back today with this easy Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad!

This Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad recipe is simple, and thanks to Mann’s Fresh Vegetable’s Shaved Brussels Sprouts, it takes only a couple minutes to put together and your longest “cook” time is the time it takes for your bacon to be cooked. That’s right, a shaved Brussels sprouts salad with bacon! It’s a crowd pleaser!

Can you Eat Raw Brussels Sprouts?

Yup! While I usually roast or sauté Brussels sprouts, raw is also a delicious alternative! It has a crunch to it that’s kind of like cabbage! Because they’re so sturdy, they hold up well and don’t get soggy from the dressing.

How I personally like to have the Brussels sprouts “marinate” in the dressing while I bake my bacon so the Brussels sprouts take on the flavour of the marinate and softens the Brussels sprouts a tad bit (but not to worry, it won’t get soggy!). I like dressing my Brussels sprouts salad with my tangy dressing.

While for this Brussels sprouts salad, I like to use raw Brussels sprouts, you can also sauté the shaved sprouts with some oil and garlic if you wish.

Busy Holiday? Make this Brussels Sprouts Salad Ahead of Time

The day before, you can toss the shaved Brussels sprouts with the dressing, and store in the fridge (covered). Then when ready, assemble your salad. The apple slices will definitely yellow if you prepare it too early in advance so I suggest only preparing the sprouts ahead of time.

What You’ll Need for This Easy Brussels Sprouts Salad Recipe

For the dressing, I based it on my tangy citrus dressing, here’s what you’ll need:

    • shallots
    • orange juice
    • lemon juice
    • lemon zest
    • olive oil
    • minced garlic
    • honey

    For the Brussels sprouts salad:

    • One bag of Mann’s Family Favourites: Shaved Brussels Sprouts
    • bacon
    • apples
    • raisins
    • almond slivers
    • pine nuts
    • goat cheese of your choice
