Instant Pot Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken
What’s your go to chicken order when ordering wings? Mine is almost always honey garlic. In my books, you cannot go wrong with honey garlic and if a restaurant messes up something as simple as honey garlic, then it’s not worth returning.
As a honey garlic fiend, I’m honestly surprised I didn’t share this spicy honey garlic chicken recipe on the blog earlier! I’ve shared a similar recipe with scallops but this chicken version in the Instant Pot is honestly the easiest thing ever! Other than a little browning to start and thickening the sauce at the end, this Instant Pot Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken recipe is pretty hands off and takes only a couple minutes to put together.

Tips and Notes on Making Spicy Honey Garlic Chicken in the Instant Pot
- You can also skip dicing up the chicken and cooking it whole instead. After cooking, you can shred the chicken breasts and put it back in the sauce to coat.
- To make this Instant Pot honey garlic chicken recipe into a meal prep: I added rice to this to bring it to work with me. You can also toss some vegetables into the sauce, before thickening and cook under pressure for 0-1 minute to steam the veggies in the sauce! I stored my meal prep in these airtight containers.
- Make this into a dump and go freezer meal: in a freezer bag, add your chicken and sauce. Once ready to make, either thaw it overnight in the fridge or cook it straight from frozen in the Instant Pot. It shouldn’t require much adjustment in the time other than it will take longer to come up to pressure if cooking from frozen.
- There’s going to be extra sauce leftover, I love drizzling it over my rice to use it up.
- This recipe was only tested in the Instant Pot Duo 9-in-1 6QT.
- I consider this a healthy honey garlic chicken instant pot recipe because there are no added preservatives and we are sure that the honey that is being used is 100% real honey with no fillers! Make sure to double check your honey source!
