This maple dijon dressing comes together quickly and easily with just five simple ingredients. With the perfect balance of sweetness and sharpness, this maple dijon vinaigrette is perfect for salads, grain bowls, or drizzled over grilled protein.
This maple dijon dressing is everything you want in a salad dressing. It comes together with kitchen staples, so you can always quickly whip it up when you’re in need of a dressing. It’s so flavorful!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s easily customizable! Want it sweeter? Add extra maple syrup! Want more sharpness? Add more Dijon mustard.
- It’s extremely easy to make. Just mix it all together in a bowl or shake it together in a jar.
- It’s versatile! I love this vinaigrette on salad but also on protein and veggies! It’s SO good on grilled chicken breasts and grilled drumsticks.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Dijon mustard — Dijon mustard has a tangy, sharp flavor that also has a bit of spiciness to it.
- maple syrup — make sure you are using pure maple syrup and not pancake syrup.
- apple cider vinegar — if you don’t have ACV, you can swap it for white wine vinegar or red wine vinegar. ACV has a tart taste with a hint of bright, sweetness from the apples.
- salt & pepper — season it to taste!
- oil — use your oil of choice. I like to use olive oil or avocado oil.
How to Make Maple Dijon Dressing
- Add the Dijon mustard, maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper, and oil to a bowl and stir to combine. Alternatively, add the ingredients into a jar and shake to combine.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- For a little bit of extra heat, add a pinch of red pepper flakes!
- You can add 1 to 2 tablespoons of lemon juice for a bright, citrus flavor.
- Add a bit of tahini or yogurt to make this dressing creamy.
Make Ahead Tips
- This maple mustard vinaigrette will keep in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. It’s normal for vinaigrettes to separate in the fridge. Simply give it a shake before you use it.
- If you use a high quality olive oil, odds are that it will solidify in the fridge. Not to worry, it’s totally normal! Let the vinaigrette sit out at room temperature for around 30 minutes before using it so it comes back to room temperature, or place it in a warm water bath.
