Fool Proof Instant Pot Steel Cut Oats
I’m always looking for a warm and healthy breakfast. I find that my stomach does much better throughout the day if I start it off with something warm. Steel cut oats provide an excellent source of protein and fiber which makes for the perfect breakfast. However, regular steel cut oats can get boring over time so I’m always looking for fun ways to spice it up a little! Today, I’m sharing with you this peaches and cream steel cut oats – it’s creamy thanks to the coconut milk and has this lovely sweet but savoury taste to it thanks to the cinnamon.
Note: if you do not have an Instant Pot, I have this yummy creamy Chocolate Chia Steel Cut Overnight Oats or these 4 Overnight Oats recipe instead that you can make instead!
The Benefit of Using the Instant Pot for Steel Cut Oats
I love making steel cut oats in the Instant Pot as it doesn’t require me to keep an eye on the stove and constantly stir. It can take a little while to cook the steel cut oats on the stove top but with the Instant Pot, all you’ve got to do is to set it to pressure for 4 minutes then let it natural release for 15 minutes (or if you’re like me and am forgetful, as long as you want lol).
What You’ll Need To Make This Peaches and Cream Pressure Cooker Steel Cut Oats
- steel cut oats
- water
- cinnamon
- maple syrup
- frozen peaches (no need to cut and peel yourself!)
- coconut milk (full fat)
You’ll also need an Instant Pot 6QT and a couple of air tight containers (I use a mix of jars and regular glass containers).

Peaches are not listed in the ingredient list. How many?
Carmy says
Hi Eleanor,
Apologies about that! It has been updated to say 3 cups of frozen peaches.

Today I made the oatmeal and peaches recipe…it was delicious. This was the first time I ever had steel-cut oats and loved them. The only thing I would change is to add a little salt…had some for my dinner tonight…yum!! I was able to get 8 servings.
Stephanie says
Can I use Greek yogurt instead of coconut milk?
Carmy says
I don’t see why not! It should work :)
