Never have your coffee watered down and diluted again by learning how to make coffee ice cubes! Coffee ice cubes are such a wonderful addition to your favorite iced latte and iced coffee recipes.
It is so easy to use cold brew coffee or leftover brewed coffee for frozen coffee ice cubes. You can customize it to your liking so you’ll never have a watered-down coffee again.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- If you’re a slow sipper like myself, having frozen coffee ice cubes are a game changer! It keeps my coffee from being diluted and I love how I can take my time drinking my lattes.
- It’s super easy to make. You literally just pour the coffee into an ice cube tray and freeze it!
- You can easily customize the coffee before freezing, so your morning coffee is perfect.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- coffee of choice — you can use espresso, instant coffee, or even cold brew coffee.
- sweeteners — this is optional; you can add some sweetener, such as maple syrup, to the coffee.
How to Make Coffee Ice Cubes
- Brew your coffee with your favorite method. You can use freshly brewed coffee, use a French press, instant coffee, cold brew, or even store-bought cold brew.
- Pour the brewed coffee into a clean ice mold. Place in the freezer and freeze overnight or at least 4 hours.
- When ready to use, pop them out of your ice cube mold and add them to your favorite coffee recipe.
Recipe Tips and Notes
- If you’d like to have sweetened coffee ice cubes, add them while the coffee is hot so it can fully dissolve.
- You can use all types of ice cube molds! If you’re a super slow sipper, you can use extra large molds. I like my small mold as it melts at the perfect pace for me.
- Flavor your ice cubes! You can add some vanilla extract, a dash of cinnamon, brown sugar, etc.
- For easy transport, I like to place my ice cube molds on a small sheet pan.
- If your ice cube tray doesn’t have a lid, I recommend transferring the frozen coffee ice cubes into a ziptop bag.
- This ice cube tip isn’t just limited to coffee! Try my matcha ice cubes or hojicha ice cubes!
My Favorite Coffee Recipes
Here are some of my favorite coffee recipes to add these coffee ice cubes to:
- Brown Sugar Latte
- Iced Caramel Latte
- Vanilla Latte
- Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Macchiato
- Iced Apple Crisp Oatmilk Shaken Espresso
- Caramel Macchiato
- Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
- Iced Pumpkin Spice Latte
- Matcha Espresso
- Honey Lavender Latte
I recommend using the coffee ice cubes within two weeks.
I recommend using a silicone ice cube mold as it’s easier to pop the ice cubes out. If you have a plastic mold and you’re having trouble getting the ice cubes out, you can run the tray under some warm water to loosen them up.
