Easy Thai Beef Stir Fry Meal Prep

This thai beef stir fry honestly had me droooooling when I was testing the recipe. I recently had all four of my wisdom teeth removed after waking up one morning in some serious pain (while typing up this post, I was still on pain killers so if anything is mumbo jumbo that is why!).

The first thing I made (beside the 6 qt of congee I had…) and ate when I was finally able to eat/chew again, was this thai beef stir fry. Needless to say, this recipe has a special place in my stomach as a favourite. Edit: by recently I mean September when this post was written then saved to my drafts for months, my bad.

What You’ll Need To Make This Thai Beef Stir Fry

    • stir fry beef or slice your own beef into thin strips
    • cornstarch
    • garlic powder
    • salt
    • oyster sauce
    • sriracha
    • honey
    • soy sauce
    • onion
    • mushroom
    • chili peppers
    • garlic
    • basil

I kept the add-ins to this sitr fry simple (mushrooms, onions, garlic, chili peppers) but this thai beef stir fry is versatile enough that you can add other things to it as well to change things up so you can easily make this a few times a week without it being boring.

Other things you can add are bell peppers, broccoli, zucchini, carrots, etc. To make this thai beef stir fry into a meal prep, I served it alongside some rice. This beef thai stir fry also goes great with stir fry noodles as well. Also, while this isn’t exactly healthy for you, it also goes great with instant noodles haha but you didn’t hear that from me!

How To Make This Thai Beef Stir Fry Meal Prep

beef coated with cornstarch | This easy thai beef stir fry meal prep takes less than 45 minutes to put together - perfect as a quick meal prep or a busy weeknight dinner.

    • If you don’t buy the pre-sliced stir fry beef, slicing your meat yourself is pretty much the only part that takes the longest in this whole recipe. So purchase the pre-sliced one if you want to save time, slice it yourself like I did if you want to save money.
    • Once the beef is ready, coat it in a mixture of cornstarch, garlic powder, and salt. The cornstarch will make the beef crispier when you cook it and the garlic and salt just adds an extra layer of flavour to the coating. You can skip the cornstarch if you’d like, the texture of the beef just won’t be as crunchy.
    • After coating the beef, add some oil to your pan and add your beef into the pan and cook until they’re browned. Set it aside.
    • In a bowl, mix together the oyster sauce, sriracha, honey, and soy sauce. Set aside.
    • Stir fry then onions, garlic, mushroom, and chili peppers until soft and add the beef back into the pan. Pour the sauce into the pan and stir to make sure everything is evenly coated.
    • Add basil (and some crushed peanuts if you desire) and serve with your side of choice.

    Cook Time: 20 mins
    Total Time: 30 mins
    Servings: 4 servings

    Ingredients

    • 1 lb stir fry beef , or slice your own beef into thin strips
    • 1-2 tbsp cornstarch
    • 1 tbsp garlic powder
    • pinch salt
    • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
    • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
    • 2 tbsp sriracha
    • 1/2 tbsp honey
    • 2 tbsp soy sauce
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 2 portobello mushrooms, sliced
    • 3 chili peppers, chopped
    • 4 cloves garlic
    • 2 tbsp basil, chopped

    Instructions

    • Coat your sliced beef in a mixture of cornstarch, garlic powder, and salt.
    • Add some oil to your pan and add your beef into the pan and cook until they’re browned.

    Notes

If you are serving this with rice, start your rice before you prep your beef and it should be done by the time your stir fry is done. If you want, you can also add your cooked rice into the stir fry (before adding the basil) and stir that in as well to get the sauce on the rice too.

Yay for stir fries! I think I have mooooost of the stuff I need to make this already (other than the basil + the mushrooms). I need to go grab those soon, because this looks amazing!
