Quick and simple, Air Fryer Chicken Thighs take next to no time to make! Just season the thighs and pop them into the air fryer, and in a flash, your chicken will be done.

I love when food pretty much cooks itself, like these air fryer boneless skinless chicken thighs. Once seasoned, they go into the air fryer and then you can walk away and come back to perfectly cooked, juicy chicken thighs. You don’t even have to flip them!

Why You’ll Love This Air Fryer Recipe

    • It’s not a complicated recipe so it’s perfect for those who don’t enjoy cooking. Just season the chicken and pop it into your air fryer!
    • It’s perfect if you’re making a small batch of chicken for a meal. Sometimes when I’m making salad, I like to just put the chicken thighs in the air fryer and by the time I’ve finished washing my lettuce and chopping up my ingredients, the chicken thighs are ready!
    • It’s versatile as you can season these air fryer chicken thighs however you’d like.

    Ingredients You’ll Need

Ingredients needed to make chicken thighs in the air fryer.
    • chicken thighs — boneless skinless chicken thighs for this recipe. Try this recipe if you have bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs.
    • olive oil — or your preferred neutral oil.
    • garlic powder
    • onion powder
    • salt and pepper
    • paprika

How to Make Boneless Skinless Chicken Thighs in the Air Fryer

Chicken thighs in a bowl, seasoned.
Boneless, skinless chicken thighs in an air fryer basket.
Cooked chicken thighs in the air fryer basket.
    • Coat the chicken thighs with the olive oil and seasoning.
    • Transfer the chicken thighs to the air fryer basket, in a single layer. Cook in two batches if needed.
    • Air fryer for 12 minutes at 400°F, you may need more time depending on the size of your chicken thighs.
    • Let the chicken thighs rest on a plate for at least a minute before cutting.

    Recipe Tips and Notes

    • My chicken thighs don’t require flipping since the air fryer basket allows the air to flow through the bottom and cook the chicken evenly. I sometimes do so because I like to readjust my chicken thighs halfway through cooking. Since the chicken thighs shrink as they cook, I just like to make sure they’re not press up against the sides.
    • If needed, pat the chicken thighs dry with some paper towels so the olive oil can coat the chicken better.
    • Feel free to change up the seasoning. Try adding dried herbs for a herby flavour, cayenne pepper for a kick, or brown sugar for a sweeter taste.
    • Chicken thighs are done when they’ve reached an internal temperature of 165F/74C. Use an instant read thermometer to check.
    My Recommendation
This is my go-to meat thermometer for making sure that the internal temperature of my meat is good to go. It’s also magnetic so I have it on my fridge door to save drawer space!

    • Freezer: allow the air fryer chicken thighs to cool before transferring them into an airtight container before storing them in the freezer. They can last for up to 3 months.
